2001年生まれ。4歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。11歳で渡英し13歳でイギリス最古の音楽学校であるPurcellSchoolに入学。卒業後奨学金を得てRoyalAcademyofMusicに入学。2023年同大学を首席で卒業。
ロンドンのウィグモアホールにてコンサート出演の他2023年ロンドンシティフィルハーモニックと共演。大学時には室内楽にも力を入れ大学のバックアップのもとイギリス各地で年間40公演以上ものコンサートに出演。2018年ノースロンドン音楽フェスティバルコンチェルト部門第1位第32回日本クラシック音楽コンクール大学の部最高位第19回ルーマニア国際音楽コンクール弦楽部門第1位第3回イブラ・グランド・アワード・ジャパン弦楽器部門第2位第24回大阪国際音楽コンクールエスポワール賞。これまでに岩澤麻子、チャールズ・セウォート、レヴォン・チリンギリアン、フィリップ・オノレ、ジェルジ・パウク、清水高師の各氏に師事。近年はInstagram、Twitter、YouTubeなどにクラシック演奏動画を配信することにも意欲的に取り組んでいる。現在(株)日本ヴァイオリンを通じて金澤氏よりH.Fagnola1926年製を無償貸与されている。
Mikako Shimatani is a 22-year-old Japanese violinist fast developing a reputation for her virtuoso performances on the violin, not just in concerts but also on many social media platforms where she shares her musical journey.
She was a prize winner at several competitions, including the 19th Romanian International Music Competition (1st prize), 32nd Japan Classical Music Competition (highest prize), North London Festival of Music Concerto Competition (1st prize), 3rd Ibla Grand Award Japan (2nd prize), Osaka International Music Competition (Espoir prize).
Mikako’s recent achievement includes a concert with London City Philharmonic, and sold-out recitals in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. With the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, she worked with numerous conductors including Semyon Bychkov, John Wilson, Karina Canellakis and Edward Gardner.
Mikako studied at the Purcell School for Young Musicians with Charles Sewart and has graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a 1st class honours under a tutelage of Levon Chilingirian, where her study was supported by scholarship from the conservatoire. She currently plays on a Hannibal Fagnola 1926 kindly loaned by Mr. Kanazawa through the Nippon Violin Co.,Ltd.
